Information About Thunder Fastpitch
Our mission is to provide the opportunity for girls to play softball at recreational and competitive levels. Teams exist for girls ages 4-18! We serve girls in the Grand Rapids MN and Itasca County area.
AGES
USA SOFTBALL AGE CALCULATOR
6U - Born between Sept 2017 and Aug 2019
8U - Born between Sept 2015 and Aug 2017
10U - Born between Sept 2013 and Aug 2015
12U - Born between Sept 2011 and Aug 2013
14U - Born between Sept 2009 and Aug 2011
16/18U - Born between Sept 2005 and Aug 2009
WHEN
6U - The season will be 4 weeks in June.
8U through 16/18U - The season typically runs from the first week in June through mid July.
WHERE
A majority of teams will practice and play games at the Sports Complex, although we do use Portage Park for practices and games as well.
Your coach will let you know where your player's practices and games will be held.
PRACTICES
Most teams will practice 2 times per week. Please watch your Crossbar team schedule for your player's practice days and times.
GAMES
The coach for your player's team will communicate what days, times, and locations games will be held.
JERSEYS
Jerseys (tops) are provided at each level.
Pants and socks are provided for 12U and up.
10U and under will need to purchase their own black pants and black socks.
EXTRA COSTS
DIBS - All players will be charged a $25 DIBS fee at registration.After completing a volunteer session, you will receive your DIBS payment back.
